Name: Steamboat Captain and his Ladies
Medium: Acrylic Size: Framed
28 x 40 Price:
$2000 Info: This was a commission piece to be placed in the oyster bar of a replica steamboat/paddlewheel restaurant. This was a dark area with only a spot light on this painting. The painting was hung so that the threesome looked like they were sitting at the bar. Everyone had to take a double take to understand it was a painting. The barge was anchored at Rockport Yacht and Supply while it was being built. One night a storm hit and the barge broke from its moorings and floated several miles a way and became stuck on what is called Mud Island. It was retrieved, but the name of the paddlewheel restaurant changed from Magic Queen to Wayward Lady. I tell this tale so you can understand the story behind the painting.
